About Me

Tunnel View

Ajo R. Cherian. Just another wordpress blogger.

Currently, most of my time is taken up pursuing my Masters Degree in Information Systems (MSIS) at the University of Nevada, Reno. I am not an MBA student but am required to take some MBA courses for my degree and just love what I learn from them.

Was born in Kerala, India in 1981. Moved to New York City at 3 years of age.

Lived in Yonkers, NY from 1991 – 2008.

Became interested in computers and computer technology in 6th grade.

Majored in electronics & computer circuitry in high school and computer engineering in college.

Worked for 5 years at a data recovery company in Armonk, NY as a data recovery specialist helping clients solve their problem of inaccessible data.

Was active in my church and held various leadership positions on the executive board and sub-committees and served as website administrator.

Married my wonderful wife in 2006.

Always wanted to live on the west coast and pursue a master’s degree before settling down to a permanent home and starting a family, so in 2008 packed all our belongings into our RAV4 and drove across the country to Reno, Nevada.

Starting to love life out west and exploring its vast, wide open spaces, beautiful scenery and fun events.

My interests are (in no particular order):

  • Photography – just bought my first DSLR and loving it!
  • Reading – used to hate reading when I was younger!
  • History – if we don’t learn about our past, we’re bound to repeat its mistakes
  • Travel – love to see this beautiful country and the world
  • Driving – tied in with traveling. I love cars and I love driving.  I’ve driven across the country once and through 29 states so far
  • Computer and information technologies – love the history behind it and learning how it can change our future
  • Living as a Christian – the hardest yet most fulfilling part of my life. Even though I was raised as a Christian, I have just recently become passionate about following Jesus Christ after questioning my faith and then examining the evidence behind the central claims of Christianity. I have seen the positive changes it has made in my life and in the lives of those  who genuinely treat it as a personal relationship with a living God as opposed to a strict religious system. I am always reading and learning about the evidence and reasoning behind its claims and what makes it so different.
  • Worldviews – I’m interested in learning about other worldviews and why people do the things they do
  • Life’s hardest questions – I’m always searching to find  the answers to questions about the meaning in life and reasons behind our existence. It can’t be just work and play, can it?
